Student Community Work

One of the unique features of the Foundations scholarship program is the scholarship students are required to do community service work during their October-December vacation break. The first part of the work is to do a diagnostic of their community. Based on the needs of the community the students then determine what type of community service work they would like to do.

Our students start community service work in 10th grade. Some of the types of service work is giving workshops on various themes such as leadership, self-esteem, aids, environment, general hygiene at home, teen relationships, drugs, health, and violence. They also work with primary age children to help reinforce math, spanish and native language skills.
