Student Initiated Educational Community Projects

WORKING ON SITE-The Foundations scholarship program offers the opportunity for the students in grades 10 and up to do student initiated educational community projects. The first part of the year they have to do an evaluation/diagnostic of their community. During this process they talk with community leaders, teachers and directors of the schools. They find out what is needed and they work together with the communities to submit an application to Foundations for Education. We work with a Swedish organization IM that provides funds for these special students projects. As of January of 2009 the only restriction with the projects is that they cannot be towards construction.
